What are we doing to control Inflation ….?
The monsoon season has begun. A morning stroll through the vegetable market brings colorful discussions of how much inflation has increased. Hearing these conversations, we spend our entire day discussing rising prices. However, we rarely think about how to tackle increasing inflation. Instead, we put all the blame on the government, continuously discussing how it is failing to controll inflation. But by adjusting our kitchen budget, we can some what overcome the daily challenges of inflation. By being fragal with our monthly income, we can lessen the impact of inflation. However, the biggest problem for Indians is our reluctance to follow any rules.

During the mansoon, if rains are delayed, the prices of leafy vegetables soor. Even if there is mismatch between production and demand, prices rise. If there is too much rain, the price index also rises because vegetables and fruits are perishable. In this regard, we should certainly admire the Japanese. When the prices of daily necessities, leafy vegetables and other essential items rise in the market, they avoid using these expensive items for a few days. As demands decreases, the prices naturally fall. If we undertake this initiative for just ten days without complaint, we will see that it doesn’t adversely affect our household budget.

However, forced sacrifices don’t instill habits. Forced actions often yield opposite results. For instance, if someone is forced to stop drinking tea because it is a bad habit, the next day they might drink more tea than usual, thinking it’s their last chance. This negative mindset sticks, and they end up not breaking the habit. Inflation is out of control even in advanced countries around world. Every nation battles inflation. However, in countries where citizens fights inflation alongside their government, daily life remains bearable despite rising prices. This trait of the Japanese is particularly commendable.
