Nowadays, from the moment we wakeup in the morning until we go to sleep at night, we blame the government for every small and big problem we face. In reality, these problems are often created by us, knowingly or unknowingly. But our frustration is that the government should solve these issues. This trends is particularly prevalent in countries with a democratic system because the government is elected by our votes. How much can we expect from a government we have elected with our single vote ? However, politicians do not allow people to think rationally about this. In a democracy, the opposition party is as important as the ruling party. It is the opposition’s job to draw the government’s attention to public issues and resolve them. But instead of holding the government accountable, the opposition tends to create public opinion against the government among ordinary citizens. This is because the ultimate goal of any political party is to gain power. Consequently, politics has become an inseparable part of the common man’s life. This has strengthened the societal mentality of blaming the government without considering our own involvement in the problems. Now, it seems that misleading society has also become a priority for every political party….

आजकाल सकाळी झोपेतून उठल्यापासून ते रात्री झोपेपर्यंत आपल्याला येणाऱ्या अगदी छोटी-मोठ्या समस्यांबाबत आपण सरकारलाच दोष देत असतो. वास्तविक पाहता ह्या समस्या कळत-नकळत आपणच निर्माण केलेल्या असतात. पण त्या समस्या देखील सरकारने सोडवायला हव्यात हाच आपला त्रागा असतो. विशेषतः लोकशाही प्रणाली स्वीकारलेल्या देशात हे प्रमाण अधिक आहे. कारण निवडणुकीद्वारे आपल्या मतावर ते सरकार सत्तेवर बसलेले असते. मतदानातून आपण दिलेल्या एका मताच्या बदल्यात सत्तेवर बसविलेल्या सरकारकडून अपेक्षा किती करायच्या ? पण जनतेला हा सारासार विचार करायला हेच राजकारणी लोक सवड देखील मिळू देत नाहीत. लोकशाहीत सत्ताधारी राजकीय पक्षा इतकेच विरोधी राजकीय पक्षाला महत्व असते. जनतेला भेडसावणाऱ्या सार्वजनिक प्रश्नांकडे सरकारचे लक्ष वेधून तो प्रश्न मार्गी लावण्याचे काम विरोधकांचे असते. मात्र प्रश्न सोडविण्यासाठी सरकारला धारेवर धरण्याऐवजी सर्वसामान्य नागरिकांचे सरकारच्या विरोधात जनमत तयार करण्याकडे विरोधीपक्षांचा कल अधिक असतो. कारण कोणत्याही परिस्थितीत सत्ता मिळविणे हेच राजकीय पक्षांचे अंतिम ध्येय असते. त्यामुळेच सर्वसामान्यांच्या आयुष्यात ‘राजकारण’ हा विषय त्याच्या जगण्याचा एक अविभाज्य भाग बनला आहे. यामुळेच निर्माण होणाऱ्या समस्यांमध्ये आपला सहभाग किती ? याचा सारासार विचार न करता सरसकट सरकारला दोष देण्याची समाजाची मानसिकता प्रबळ होत चालली आहे. आता ‘समाजाची दिशाभूल’ या विषयावर देखील प्रत्येक राजकीय पक्ष समाजाची दिशाभूल करण्यासाठी अग्रेसर झाल्याचे दिसत आहे.
