What do you love about where you live?

• India is a country where the dialect changes every ten kilometers. The question,”what do you love about where you live ?” Is one that can be answered with great enthusiasm. The world is a beautiful place, with many places that attract the heart. But the place where we spend most of our time becomes our favorite. This is because our home, the people in it, the inanimate objects we handle daily, our city, our surroundings, our friends, coworkers, and elders who stand firmly by us-all these relationships are what we create around us. This is what makes our life. I can’t stay away from my city for long; I start to feel restless. It’s not that I don’t like traveling-I love exploring new places. But there’s always an eagerness to return to my city.
• The second most important thing is my firm belief that the delicious and flavorful food made in the hotel’s and homes of my city cannot be found anywhere else in the world. My city is spread out shallow and round like a plate. If you ever visit Solapur (Maharashtra, India), you’ll understand what I’m saying. My city has a rich heritage of spirituality, literature, culture, and history. The crisp bhakari ( a type of flat bread called ‘kadak bhakari’ in local language) and peanut chutney here, as well as the hospitality, are well-known across the world.

• प्रत्येक दहा किलोमीटर अंतरावर भाषेचा लहेजा बदलणारा भारत हा देश आहे. “तुम्ही जिथे राहता, तेथील तुम्हाला काय आवडतं ?” खूप आवडीचा आणि भरभरून उत्तर देता येण्यासारखा हा प्रश्न आहे. जग खूप सुंदर आहे. मनाला आकर्षित करणारी अनेक ठिकाणे आहेत. पण आपल्याला ज्याचा सहवास अधिक मिळतो ते ठिकाणच आपल्याला अधिक आवडत असते. कारण आपण राहतो ते घर, घरातील माणसे, घरातल्या निर्जीव पण रोज हाताळल्या जाणाऱ्या वस्तू, आपले शहर, आपण रहात असलेला परिसर आणि सर्वात महत्वाचे म्हणजे आपले मित्र, कामाच्या ठिकाणी असलेले सहकारी, आपल्या चांगल्या-वाईट काळात आपल्या पाठीशी खंबीरपणे उभी राहिलेली ज्येष्ठ मंडळी ही सगळी नाती आपण आपल्या भोवती निर्माण केलेली असतात. तेच तर आपलं आयुष्य असतं. मला माझे शहर सोडून लांब फारकाळ राहता येत नाही. मी लगेचच अस्वस्थ व्हायला लागतो. म्हणजे मला प्रवास आवडत नाही असे नाही. मला नवीन ठिकाणे देखील पहायला आवडतात. पण आपल्या शहराकडे परतण्याची खूप घाई असते.
• दुसरे सर्वात महत्वाचे म्हणजे, माझे एक ठाम मत आहे, माझ्या शहरातील प्रत्येक घरातून आणि हॉटेल्समधून जे खाद्यपदार्थ तयार होतात एव्हढे रुचकर आणि चविष्ठ पदार्थ संपूर्ण जगात कुठेही मिळणार नाहीत. अगदी प्लेटसारखं उथळ आणि गोलाकार पसरलेलं माझं शहर आहे. कधी आलात सोलापूरला तर तुम्हाला मी जे सांगतोय त्याची खात्री होईल. अध्यात्म, साहित्य, संस्कृती आणि इतिहासाचा वारसा असलेले माझे शहर आहे. इथले अगत्य आणि पाहुणचार सर्वात प्रसिद्ध आहे. इथले खाद्यपदार्थ “कडक भाकरी आणि शेंगाची चटणी” जगभर पोहोचली आहे.
