मरेपर्यंत माणसाला समजूनच घ्यावे लागते..!

I feel like we constantly receive an unsolicited command every step of the way, without fail. “First, understand, then respond.” Regardless of how educated or experienced you are, this unsolicited command is given as advice. I still haven’t understood what exactly the process of “understanding” truly is.

The Jewish-Dutch philosopher Baruch de Spinoza, speaking about the process of understanding, says, “The highest action a person can attain is to learn to understand, because to understand is to be free.” Now, if, as the great philosopher Spinoza says, continuous learning is essential to understanding, how exactly do we apply the education we receive? Moreover, this “understanding” is not taught in any university. On the contrary, even there, the education we receive tells us to understand it. If a person learns this process of understanding through the experiences of life, then they will continue learning every day until they die, which means they will continue understanding throughout their life.

मला वाटतं, आपल्याला दररोज न चुकता अगदी पावला पावलावर एक अनाहूत आदेश ऐकायला मिळत असतो. “आधी समजून घे, मगच त्यावर प्रतिक्रिया दे”. तुम्ही किती शिकला आहात, किती अनुभव संपन्न आहात ? या गोष्टी विचारात न घेता हा अनाहूत आदेश आपल्याला सल्ला म्हणून दिला जातो. मला अजूनही “समजून घेणे” ही प्रक्रिया नेमकी काय आहे ? हेच समजलेले नाही.

ज्यू वंशीय डच तत्वज्ञ बारुथ डी. स्पिनोझा समजून घेण्याच्या प्रक्रियेबद्दल म्हणतो की, “माणसाला मिळणारी सर्वोच्च कृती म्हणजे समजून घेण्यासाठी शिकणे आहे. कारण समजणे म्हणजे मुक्त होणे आहे.” आता जर थोर तत्वज्ञ बारुथ स्पिनोझा म्हणतो त्याप्रमाणे समजून घेण्यासाठी सतत शिकत राहणे अपरिहार्य असेल तर मग आपण जे शिक्षण घेतो त्याचा उपयोग आपण नेमका करणार तरी कसा ? बरं हे “समजून घेणे” कोणत्याही विद्यापीठात शिकवले जात नाही. उलट तिथेही जे शिक्षण दिले जाते. ते पण समजून घ्या असेच सांगते. माणसाला जगण्याच्या व्यवहारातून जर या समजून घेण्याच्या प्रक्रियेचे शिक्षण मिळत असेल तर मग तो मरेपर्यंत रोजच शिकत राहणार आहे म्हणजेच तो समजून घेत राहणार आहे.
