How much would you pay to go to the moon?

On July 20, 1969, when NASA’s Apollo 11 spacecraft landed on the moon, Neil Armstrong became the first astronaut to set foot on the lunar surface. Now, for its 2025 lunar mission, NASA has selected only 10 people from a pool of 10,000 applicants. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. But let’s imagine, what if I got the chance? I could only go if I were selected as part of the mission. I don’t have enough money to even afford a domestic flight, let alone this. Perhaps if public transport services to the moon were available, it might become possible. That’s the dream I’ll have to hold onto.

२० जुलै १९६९ रोजी अमेरिकेच्या नासाचे अपोलो ११ हे यान चंद्रावर उतरले तेंव्हा निल आर्मस्ट्राँग हे चंद्रावर पहिले पाऊल टाकणारे अंतराळवीर ठरले. आता नासाने २०२५ मधील चांद्र मोहिमेसाठी १० हजार लोकांमधून फक्त १० जणांची निवड केली आहे. दुर्दैवाने त्यात मी नाही. पण आपण कल्पना करूया समजा मला ही संधी मिळाली तर…! मोहिमेचा भाग म्हणून निवड झाली तरच मी जावू शकेन. माझ्याजवळ एव्हढे पैसे नाहीत की मी माझ्या देशांतर्गत देखील विमान प्रवास करू शकेन. पब्लिक ट्रान्सपोर्ट सर्व्हिस सुरू झाली तर कदाचित हे शक्य होईल का ? याचेच मला स्वप्न बघावे लागेल.
