“या व्यवहारी जगात मोबदल्याशिवाय “जीन” देखील ऐकत नाही….!”

You have three magic genie wishes, what are you asking for?

In the stories we heard as children, Aladdin had a magical lamp. When he rubbed the lamp, a “genie” would emerge and fulfill his wishes. Now, imagine that in this practical world, we somehow got hold of such a magical lamp, and upon rubbing it, a real genie appeared. Would he really fulfill our wishes for free? And if we decided to offer him compensation, what would he ask for? Could we even afford to give him what he asks for? If we don’t give it to him, he wouldn’t stay with us. And if we had the means to give him whatever he wanted, would we even need the “genie” in the first place? Isn’t this quite a puzzling question?

• We harbor many dreams, but not all of them come true. The speed at which we dream is much faster than the pace at which we can actually fulfill them. All our dreams are tied to our sense of happiness. Yet, we often don’t understand where true happiness lies. Even when our dreams do come true after some time, we’re unsure if they will bring us the happiness we expected. In such a situation, imagine finding a “magic lamp” that could instantly fulfill our dreams, and when we rub it, the “genie” appears before us. Would he really fulfill our wishes immediately?
• First, he would likely express his displeasure in very strong words for being disturbed from his slumber. Eventually, he would present his tariff card and demand compensation for each wish he grants.
• Now, would he ask for currency as compensation? What use would that be to him? He would ask for something that holds value for him. But would we be able to give it to him?
• The genie told me, “I am ready to fulfill your three wishes, but what will you offer me in return?” I was confused. What could I possibly have that this genie doesn’t already possess? So, I asked him.
• With a booming laugh, he said, “Give me your contentment and freedom, and in exchange, I’ll give you whatever you desire.”
• But even the genie is a “slave,” isn’t he? If we, as free beings, have our desires fulfilled by a slave, and if in return he takes away our very freedom, we too would become slaves, secretly trapped within that magic lamp. Would we be content with that?

लहानपणी ऐकलेल्या गोष्टीतील अल्लाउद्दीनकडे जादूचा दिवा असतो. त्याने तो दिवा घासला की त्यातून “जीन” बाहेर येवून त्याच्या इच्छा पूर्ण करत असतो. आता ह्या व्यवहारी जगात समजा असा जादूचा दिवा आपल्याला मिळाला आणि आपण तो दिवा घासून पाहिला, खरोखरच त्यातून जीन बाहेर आला तर तो फुकट आपल्या इच्छा पूर्ण करेल का ? आणि समजा आपण त्याला मोबदला द्यायचा ठरवले तर तो काय मागेल ? त्याने जे मागितले ते आपण त्याला देवू शकू का ? नाही दिले तर तो आपल्या जवळ राहणार नाही. आणि त्याला मागेल ते देण्याची आपली ऐपत असेल तर मग आपल्याला “जीन”ची गरजच काय ? आहे की नाही कूट प्रश्न…?

• आपण बरीच स्वप्ने बाळगून असतो. आपली सगळीच स्वप्ने पूर्ण होतात असे अजिबात होत नसते. स्वप्न पाहण्याचा जेव्हढा वेग असतो. प्रत्यक्षात ते पूर्ण करण्याची गती तेव्हढीच संथ असते. आपली सगळी स्वप्नं ही आपल्या सुखाशी निगडित असतात. नेमकं सुख कशात मानायचं हेच आपल्याला कळत नसतं. त्यामुळे काही काळाने स्वप्न पूर्ण झाले तरी आपण त्यात सुख मानू याबद्दल आपली स्वतःचीच खात्री नसते. अशावेळी स्वप्नांची तातडीने पूर्तता करणारा “जादूचा दिवा” आपल्याला सापडला आणि तो घासल्यावर प्रत्यक्ष “जीन” आपल्यासमोर उभा राहिला तर तो लगेचच आपल्या इच्छा पूर्ण करेल का ?
• एकतर पहिल्यांदा तो त्याची झोपमोड केल्याबद्दल अतिशय “****” तीव्र शब्दात नाराजी व्यक्त करेल. शेवटी तो आपल्या टेरिफ कार्डचे वाचन करून प्रत्येक इच्छेच्या बदल्यात मोबदला मागेल.
• आता मोबदला म्हणून आपण उपयोगात आणतो ते चलन थोडेच मागणार ? त्याला त्याचा काय उपयोग होईल ? आपल्याजवळ असे काही असेल जे त्याच्या उपयोगाचे असेल तो ते मागेल पण आपण ते देवू का ?
• मला “जीन” हेच म्हणाला. मी तुमच्या तीन इच्छा पूर्ण करायला तयार आहे. पण तुम्ही त्याबदल्यात मला मोबदला काय देणार ? मी बुचकळ्यात पडलो, माझ्याजवळ असं काय आहे जे या “जीन” जवळ नाही. मग मी त्यालाच विचारले.
• गडगडाटी हास्य करत तो म्हणाला,” तुझ्या जवळचे समाधान आणि स्वातंत्र्य मला दे त्याबदल्यात तू जे मागशील ते मी तुला देईन”.
• जीन देखील शेवटी “गुलाम”च आहे ना ! आपण स्वातंत्र्य उपभोगणाऱ्या माणसांनी गुलामाकडून इच्छापूर्ती करून घ्यायची त्याबदल्यात त्याने जर आपले स्वातंत्र्यच काढून घेतले तर जादूच्या दिव्यात गुप्तपणे बसण्याची गुलामी आपल्यावर येईल….मग आपण समाधानी होवू का ?
