The day before yesterday, on March 31, I used ChatGPT to generate my portrait in the “Ghibli Art” style and posted it on my Facebook wall. Soon after, one of my friends sent me a viral clip about “data leaks” on WhatsApp. Taking that clip as a reference, I asked ChatGPT about data leaks. Instead of directly stating that a data leak could happen, it provided guidelines on how users should safeguard their data.
On one hand, users are captivated by Ghibli Art, but on the other, the risk of data leaks remains. Currently, many concerns are being raised regarding privacy in the context of digital art and AI-based image generation tools. There is confusion among general users, particularly about whether data leaks are possible and whether this technology is being misused.
AI-based image generation tools are certainly useful for entertainment, but it is essential to consider privacy issues while using them. If proper precautions are not taken, the possibility of user data being leaked cannot be ruled out.
🔴 Possibility of Data Leaks:
- Data Collection and Usage :-
Some AI-based image generation platforms store uploaded photos and use them for analysis.
If a company does not provide a clear policy, it becomes difficult to understand how useजr data is being utilized.
- Third-Party Access :-
Certain platforms may share user information with third parties, such as advertising or analytics companies.
This increases the risk of personal data being unintentionally leaked.
- Security Risks and Hacking :-
If a platform has weak security, hackers may gain access to its database and leak photos or other personal information.
- User-Generated Images and AI Model Training :-
- Some AI tools use uploaded images to improve their models.
- As a result, if a user uploads sensitive or private photos, there is a possibility that they may appear elsewhere in the future.
🔴 How to Stay Safe? :-
- Read Data Policies : Before using any AI tool, carefully review its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Avoid Uploading Sensitive Photos : Do not upload highly private or personal photos or data to any AI tool.
- Choose Trusted Platforms : Use only reputable and secure platforms, such as open-source tools or services that guarantee privacy.
🔴 Check Permissions Given to AI Tools :- Some platforms request access to your camera, gallery, or other files. If the permissions seem excessive, do not grant them.

परवा म्हणजे ३१ मार्च रोजी मी चॅट जीपीटीच्या माध्यमातून ‘घिबली आर्ट’च्या फॉर्ममध्ये मी माझे छायाचित्र करून घेतले अन फेसबुकच्या भिंतीवर डकवले. तर माझ्या एका मित्राने मला सर ‘डाटा लिक’ प्रकरणाची एक व्हायरल झालेली क्लिपच व्हॉट्सअप केली. त्या क्लिपचा आधार घेत मी डाटा लिकबद्दल चॅट जीपीटीवर प्रश्न विचारला. डाटा लिक होवू शकतो असे सरळ न सांगता त्यांनी युजर्सनी काळजी कशी घ्यावी हे सांगितले. एकीकडे घिबली आर्टची युजर्सना भुरळ पडलेली असताना डाटा लिक होण्याचे संकट मात्र आहे. सध्या डिजिटल कला आणि AI (ए आय)-आधारित इमेज जनरेशन टूल्सच्या संदर्भात गोपनियतेबद्दल अनेक प्रश्न उपस्थित होत आहेत. विशेषतः डेटा लिक होवू शकतो का ? किंवा या तंत्रज्ञानाचा गैरवापर होतो का ? याबाबत सर्वसामान्य वापरकर्त्यांमध्ये गोंधळ दिसून येतो.
AI-आधारित इमेज जनरेशन टूल्स मनोरंजनासाठी नक्कीच उपयुक्त आहेत, पण त्यांचा वापर करताना गोपनीयतेच्या मुद्द्यांकडे लक्ष देणे आवश्यक आहे. जर योग्य काळजी घेतली नाही, तर वापरकर्त्याचा डेटा लीक होण्याची शक्यता नाकारता येत नाही.
🔴 डेटा लीक होण्याची शक्यता :-
१. डेटा संग्रह आणि वापर :
काही AI-आधारित इमेज जनरेशन प्लॅटफॉर्म वापरकर्त्यांचे अपलोड केलेले फोटो संग्रहीत करतात आणि त्यांचा विश्लेषणासाठी वापर करतात.
जर कंपनीने स्पष्ट धोरण न दिले, तर वापरकर्त्याचा डेटा कशा प्रकारे वापरला जातो हे समजणे कठीण होते.
२. थर्ड-पार्टी अक्सेस :
काही प्लॅटफॉर्म वापरकर्त्यांची माहिती तृतीय पक्षांना (थर्ड-पार्टी) देऊ शकतात, जसे की जाहिरात कंपन्या किंवा विश्लेषण कंपन्या.
यामुळे वैयक्तिक माहिती अनावधानाने लीक होण्याची शक्यता असते.
३. सुरक्षा धोके आणि हॅकिंग :-
जर प्लॅटफॉर्मची सुरक्षा कमी दर्जाची असेल, तर हॅकर्स डेटाबेसमध्ये प्रवेश करून फोटो आणि इतर माहिती लीक करू शकतात.
४. युजरने तयार केलेली चित्रे आणि AI मॉडेल ट्रेनिंग :-
काही AI टूल्स वापरकर्त्यांकडून अपलोड केलेल्या चित्रांचा वापर त्यांच्या मॉडेलच्या सुधारण्यासाठी करतात.
त्यामुळे, जर वापरकर्त्याने संवेदनशील किंवा खाजगी फोटो अपलोड केला असेल, तर तो भविष्यात अन्यत्र दिसण्याची शक्यता असते.
🔴 सावधगिरी कशी बाळगावी? :-
- डेटा पॉलिसी वाचा: कोणत्याही AI टूलचा वापर करण्यापूर्वी त्यांची Privacy Policy आणि Terms of Service नीट समजून घ्या.
- संवेदनशील फोटो अपलोड करू नका : अत्यंत खासगी किंवा वैयक्तिक माहिती असलेले फोटो किंवा डेटा कोणत्याही AI टूलवर अपलोड करणे टाळा.
- विश्वसनीय प्लॅटफॉर्म निवडा: फक्त नामांकित आणि सुरक्षित प्लॅटफॉर्मचा वापर करा, जसे की ओपन-सोर्स किंवा गोपनीयतेची हमी देणारी सेवा.
🔴 AI टूलला दिलेल्या परवानग्या तपासा :- काही प्लॅटफॉर्म तुमच्या कॅमेरा, गॅलरी किंवा इतर फाईल्ससाठी परवानगी मागतात. ती गरजेपेक्षा जास्त वाटत असल्यास देऊ नका.
