How do you want to retire?
Sometimes, life feels like it’s coming to a pause — we reach a milestone and think it’s time to rest. But just then, life offers us another opportunity, a new reason to begin again. As long as the body supports us, the mind stays energized, and our thoughts remain clear — that is truly the right time to prove ourselves at yet another stage. Retirement doesn’t mean stopping work; it means changing the nature of our work. And embracing that change becomes the real source of inspiration.
A Message for the Inspired
Retirement is a mental state — not something defined merely by dates or official criteria. If you believe in your own capabilities, then age is nothing but a number. I accepted this opportunity because my heart still beats with passion, and my thoughts are still alive and vibrant. That’s why I say — don’t stop. Recognize your true self and rise once again!
🛑 Rejecting the Age Barrier
On April 11, I turned 58. For many, this age marks retirement. I too felt it was time to pause, to take a break. But just eight days later, an event occurred that completely overturned that thought. On April 19, I received a phone call — one that changed everything.
🛑 An Opportunity Came Knocking — Right at My Doorstep!
I received an unexpected offer from Amrutvel Media Group to become their Editor. I hadn’t applied or tried for it! It was the kind of opportunity I had never thought I would reach — not even during the peak of my journalism career. This post felt like a formal recognition of my writing and editorial abilities.
🛑 A Decision Taken with Confidence
That single opportunity made me reflect — “Retirement age” is just a myth. As long as both body and mind are active, a person can work — and work effectively. I felt I could still contribute meaningfully for at least another ten years. So, I made a decision: I won’t stop working — I’ll just change the nature of my work.
🛑 Not Retirement, But the Beginning of a New Responsibility
This editorial position isn’t just a designation — it’s a new role, a new direction. It’s a chance to connect with people through writing, through thought, and with social awareness. That’s why I don’t see this as retirement — I see it as the start of a brand-new chapter.

तुम्ही निवृत्ती कशी घ्यावी असे वाटते?
कधी कधी आयुष्य थांबेल असं वाटतं — एखादं टप्पं गाठल्यावर आपण आता विश्रांती घेऊ म्हणतो. पण तेवढ्यात आयुष्य पुन्हा एक संधी देतं, नव्याने सुरु व्हायचं कारण देतं. शरीर साथ देत असेपर्यंत, मनाला ऊर्जा असेपर्यंत, आणि विचार स्पष्ट असतानाच — हीच खरी वेळ असते स्वतःला अजून एका टप्प्यावर सिद्ध करण्याची. निवृत्ती म्हणजे काम थांबवणं नव्हे, तर कामाचं स्वरूप बदलणं. आणि हा बदल स्वीकारणं, हेच खरी प्रेरणा ठरतं.
प्रेरणा घेणाऱ्यांसाठी एक संदेश
निवृत्ती ही मानसिक स्थिती असते, केवळ तारखांनी किंवा सरकारी निकषांनी ठरवलेली गोष्ट नसते. स्वतःच्या क्षमतेवर विश्वास असेल, तर वय म्हणजे केवळ आकडा ठरतो. मी ही संधी स्वीकारली, कारण माझं मन अजूनही धडधडतंय, विचार अजूनही जिवंत आहेत. म्हणूनच सांगतो — थांबू नका, स्वतःला ओळखून पुन्हा एकदा उभं राहा!
🛑 वयाच्या सीमेला नकार
११ एप्रिल रोजी मी ५८ वर्षांचा झालो. अनेकांसाठी हे वय निवृत्तीचं असतं. मलाही तसंच वाटत होतं — की आता थोडं थांबावं, विश्रांती घ्यावी. पण या विचाराला मूठमाती देणारी घटना अवघ्या आठ दिवसांत घडली. १९ एप्रिलला एक फोन आला — ज्याने सगळं चित्र बदललं.
🛑 संधी चालून आली, घरबसल्या!
अमृतवेल मीडिया ग्रुपकडून मला त्यांचं संपादकपद देण्याचा प्रस्ताव आला. तोही कोणत्याही प्रयत्नांशिवाय! ही एक अशी संधी होती जी मी कधीही गाठू शकलो नव्हतो, अगदी पत्रकारितेच्या शिखरावर असतानाही. हे पद म्हणजे माझ्या लेखन आणि संपादन क्षमतेवर आलेली शिक्कामोर्तब संधी होती.
🛑आत्मविश्वासाने घेतलेला निर्णय
या एका संधीने मला विचार करायला भाग पाडलं — “निवृत्तीचं वय” असं काही नसतं. जोवर शरीर आणि मन दोन्ही सक्रिय आहेत, तोवर माणूस काम करू शकतो, आणि प्रभावीपणे करू शकतो. मला वाटलं, आपण अजून किमान दहा वर्षं स्वतःचं उत्तम योगदान देऊ शकतो. आणि मग मी निर्णय घेतला — काम थांबवायचं नाही, कामाचं स्वरूप बदलायचं!
🛑निवृत्ती नाही, नव्या जबाबदारीची सुरुवात
हे संपादकपद म्हणजे केवळ एक पद नाही, तर ही एक नवीन भूमिका, एक नवी दिशा आहे. लेखनातून, विचारांमधून आणि सामाजिक भान ठेवून अनेकांना जोडण्याची ही संधी आहे. त्यामुळे निवृत्ती नव्हे, ही एक नव्या अध्यायाची सुरुवात आहे असं मला वाटतं.
