शिवाजी महाराजांचा युद्धतंत्रातील ‘गनिमी कावा’ आजही जागतिक सैन्यशास्त्रात अभ्यासाचा विषय आहे. त्यांनी लढाईत ताकदीपेक्षा चातुर्याला महत्त्व दिलं. जंगलं, पर्वतरांगा, संकटकाळातील निर्णय आणि शत्रूच्या विचारांवर आधी आघात करणं — ही त्यांची युद्धशैली दुर्मीळ होती. पराक्रम आणि रणनीती यांचं हे अनुपम उदाहरण होतं.

शिवराय हे केवळ राजा नव्हते, तर ते ‘राजधर्म’ पाळणारे राजा होते. त्यांनी शेतकरी, व्यापारी, सैनिक, स्त्रिया — सगळ्यांच्या हिताचं विचार केलं. त्यांच्या दरबारात न्याय सर्वांसाठी समान होता. कुठल्याही धर्माला द्वेष न करता सर्व धर्मांचा सन्मान त्यांनी जपला. म्हणूनच सामान्य जनतेच्या हृदयात आजही ते ‘राजा शिवछत्रपती’ आहेत.
स्त्रीसन्मान आणि आचारधर्म
शिवाजी महाराजांनी स्त्रियांचा सन्मान हा आपल्या प्रशासनाचा मूलभूत नियम बनवला. कोणत्याही युद्धात स्त्रियांवर अत्याचार न करता, त्यांना त्यांच्या घरी सुरक्षित पोहोचवण्याची जबाबदारी घेतली. त्यांनी शौर्याच्या पलीकडे, संस्कृती आणि आचारधर्माचं पालन केलं, हेच त्यांना इतर शूर योद्ध्यांपेक्षा वेगळं ठरवतं.
