What would your life be like without music?

No matter the language, religion, or region, when it becomes difficult to understand the language of expression, emotions and feelings find their companion in music. Music creates a harmonious symphony that flows effortlessly. It is the melodic expression of the rhythm and emotions of life. The tones, melody, and expression of music are like a universal current that embraces all languages and feelings. Just as the world cannot survive without water or oxygen, life too would be incomplete without music.

• In my city, there are communities of people who speak various Indian languages. They have left their regions for livelihood, but along with them, they have brought their language, culture, and cuisine. You’ll find only in India that the same festival or celebration is observed in different ways. This is because language has a profound influence on tradition, culture, and values. However, there is a stream that connects these diverse languages and their cultures, and that stream is music. Just like a river that flows along its natural course, it is joined by many smaller streams along the way. Eventually, all these streams meet the sea, and the sea has its own unique music. This is much like the different linguistic currents of humans.
• There is a large group of South Indians living around me. Even today, I don’t understand their language, but their warm and hospitable culture, their unique cuisine, and their way of celebrating festivals seem fascinating and appealing to me. Though I don’t understand their language, I can sense their passion. The reason for that is music. Where language stops, music begins.
• Music intensifies human existence, just as it gives shape to unexpressed emotions. The expression of joy and sorrow is like the uproar of music. To express anger, desire, attachment, or love, humans must rely on the medium of music. Without music, life would feel like a desolate and monotonous journey through a barren desert. In the end, a human is like an instrument of nature, and their expression is a melodious musical journey.

भाव-भावनांचे उत्कट प्रकटीकरण म्हणजेच संगीत….!

संगीताशिवाय तुमचं जीवन कसं असेल?

भाषा, धर्म, प्रदेश कोणताही असो, जेंव्हा व्यक्त होण्याची भाषा एकमेकांना समजणे अवघड होते, तेंव्हा भाव-भावनांच्या प्रकटिकरणाला साथ मिळते ती संगीताची. जी एक सुगम अशी सिंफनी तयार करते. जगण्यातील लय आणि भावनांचा सुरेल आविष्कार म्हणजेच संगीत असते. ज्याचे स्वर, माधुर्य आणि अभिव्यक्ती ही सर्व भाषांना आणि भावनांना आपल्यात सामावून घेणारा प्रवाह म्हणजे संगीत होय. जसं पाणी नसेल, प्राणवायू नसेल तर ही सृष्टी जिवंत राहणार नाही. अगदी तसंच संगीत नसेल तर माणसाचं जगणं देखील नसेल.

• माझ्या शहरात विविध भारतीय भाषा बोलणारे लोकसमूह आहेत. उपजीविकेच्या निमित्ताने ते त्यांचा प्रदेश सोडून आले आहेत. पण येताना त्यांनी त्यांच्या सोबत त्यांची भाषा, सभ्यता आणि खाद्यसंस्कृती आणली आहे. एकच सण किंवा उत्सव वेगवेगळ्या पद्धतीनुसार साजरा होताना तुम्हाला फक्त भारतात दिसेल. कारण भाषेचा परंपरा, सभ्यता आणि संस्कारावर जबरदस्त पगडा असतो. पण वेगवेगळ्या भाषा आणि त्यांच्या सभ्यता आणि संस्कृतीला जोडणारा एक प्रवाह आहे तो म्हणजे संगीत. अगदी खळाळत वाहणारी नदी आपल्या नैसर्गिक रचनेप्रमाणे आपल्या मार्गावरून वहात असली तरी तिला येवून मिळणारे अनेक छोटे-मोठे प्रवाह असतात. शेवटी हे सर्व प्रवाह मिळतात ते समुद्राला. समुद्राचं स्वतःचं एक संगीत आहे. अगदी माणसांच्या विविध भाषा प्रवाहाचे आहे.
• तर माझ्या आजूबाजूला दाक्षिणात्य भारतीयांचा मोठा समूह राहतो. त्यांची भाषा आजही मला येत नाही. पण त्यांची अगत्यशील सभ्यता, वेगळी चव वाटणारी खाद्यसंस्कृती आणि उत्सव साजरा करण्याची त्यांची पद्धत मला विलक्षण पण आकर्षित करणारी वाटते. मला भाषा समजत नसली तरी त्यांची उत्कटता समजते. त्याला कारण संगीत आहे. जिथे भाषा थांबते तिथून संगीत सुरू होते.
• माणसाच्या वास्तवातील जगण्याला संगीत जसं अधिक उत्कट बनवतं अगदी तसंच अव्यक्त भावनांना संगीतामुळेच आकार मिळतो. सुखदुःखाचे प्रकटीकरण म्हणजे संगीताचा कल्लोळ असतो. राग, लोभ, मोह, प्रेम यासर्वांच्या व्यक्ततेसाठी माणसाला संगीत या माध्यमाचाच आधार घ्यावा लागतो. आयुष्यात संगीत नसेल तर आयुष्य भयाण आणि कंटाळवाण्या वाळवंटी प्रवासासारखा होऊन जाईल. शेवटी माणूस हे एक निसर्गाचे वाद्य आहे. आणि त्याचे व्यक्त होणे म्हणजे सुरेल संगीत प्रवास आहे.
