निळा चंद्र आणि रक्षाबंधन….!

In India, “RakshaBandhan” will be celebrated on August 19 under the witness of the Blue Moon. This day holds great significance in Indian religious traditions as it is also celebrated as “Narali Purnima”.

The koli community, whose livelihood depends on the sea, celebrates the festival of “Narali Purnima” with great enthusiasm on this occasion, they offer coconuts to the sea with devotion and pray to the sea goddess for the prosperity of their trade. On the same day, the festival of “Raksha Bandhan”. Which reminds brother of their responsibility to protect their sisters, is also celebrated. On this day, sisters perform the ritual of “owali” for their brothers and pray to the Almighty for their well-being. In return, brothers pledge to protect their sisters. As a symbol of this bond, the sister ties a “Rakhi”(silk thread) on her brothers wrist. On this very day, at exactly 11:56 PM, a full Blue Moon will be visible in India. This is an astronomical event.

Under specific atmospheric conditions, such as volcanic eruptions or the ash particals from large forest fires, the moon can also appear blue. Overall, this day will be memorable for those with a poetic heart.

भारतात १९ ऑगस्टला “निळ्या चंद्राच्या” साक्षीने साजरे होईल “रक्षाबंधन”. “नारळी पौर्णिमा” म्हणून या दिवसाला भारतीय धर्मशास्त्रात खूप महत्व आहे. समुद्री जीवांवर ज्यांची उपजीविका आहे असे कोळी बांधव “नारळी पौर्णिमेचा” सण मोठ्या उत्साहात साजरा करतात. यावेळी समुद्राला भक्तिभावाने नारळ वाढवून व्यवसायाच्या वाढीसाठी समुद्रदेवतेला साकडे घालतात. तर याच दिवशी बहिणीच्या रक्षणाच्या जबाबदारीची आठवण करून देणारा “रक्षाबंधनाचा” सण आहे. या दिवशी बहीण आपल्या भावाला ओवाळून त्याच्यासाठी परमेश्वराजवळ सुयश चिंतिते. तर भाऊ देखील बहिणीच्या रक्षणाची जबाबदारी स्वीकारतो. या भावबंधनाचे प्रतीक म्हणून बहीण आपल्या भावाला “राखी” (रेशीमधागा) बांधते. आता याच दिवशी भारतात बरोबर रात्री ११ वाजून ५६ मिनिटांनी पूर्ण आकारात निळा चंद्र दिसणार आहे. ही एक खगोलीय घटना आहे.

विशिष्ट वायूमंडलीय परिस्थिती मध्ये, जसे की, ज्वालामुखीचा उद्रेक किंवा मोठ्या जंगलात पेटलेल्या वणव्यातील राखेच्या कणांमुळे देखील चंद्र निळा दिसू शकतो. एकूणच कवी मनाच्या लोकांसाठी हा दिवस संस्मरणीय ठरणार आहे.
