“On the occasion of the blogger friend’s lecture at the Pune Radio Station…!”

November 7 marked the death anniversary of Nobel Prize-winning French novelist and philosopher Albert Camus. On this occasion, Pune (India) Radio Station (All India Radio) paid tribute to him through their special English program, “Kaleidoscope.” For this, Mr. Gaurav Shimpi, the Program Officer of Pune Radio Station, invited Dr. R.Y. Shinde, a retired Head of the English Department, Vice Principal of Kisan Veer College (Wai, Dist. Satara), editor of an international journal, music critic, technology enthusiast, and an active blogger on WordPress under the name “veerites” (currently residing in Pune). The program was broadcast on Pune Radio Station on Saturday, November 9, at 10:10 a.m.

The rebellious stance of French novelist Albert Camus, who emphasized that every individual must rebel against suffering and maintain optimism, had a profound impact on society at the time. His message—more significant than questioning whether God exists or if a Marxist revolution will happen—focused on the need for personal liberation from sorrow. Camus placed the individual at the center of his existential and atheistic philosophy, making his intellectual struggle appear paramount in the societal battles of that era.
  • Dr. R.Y. Shinde, an expert in English literature and a writer, resides in Pune, just 240 kilometers away from me. However, it was the blogging platform WordPress that played a key role in forming our friendship. When I first started my blog on WordPress, I faced language barriers. But with the help of a translator, I began publishing posts translated into English. Whenever I come across Marathi-speaking followers, I feel reassured that my decision was right. It was through blogging that I met Dr. R.Y. Shinde as a friend.
  • WordPress is truly a global platform for bloggers, and I experience this daily. I’ve made friends with bloggers from different countries, each with their own unique qualities. I wanted to highlight this uniqueness, and I took the opportunity of writing about Dr. R.Y. Shinde’s lecture on Pune Radio Station. What struck me even more was that Pune Radio Station, which operates in the Marathi region of India, chose to celebrate the death anniversary of a French philosopher like Albert Camus. This perspective felt like it transcended regional and national boundaries, promoting unity. For this reason, I also hold Pune Radio Station in high regard. That’s why I have expressed my feelings through my blog.

“ब्लॉगर मित्राच्या पुणे रेडिओ केंद्रावरील व्याख्यानाच्या निमित्ताने…!”

नोबेल पारितोषिक विजेते फ्रेंच कादंबरीकार, तत्त्ववेत्ता अल्बर्ट काम्यु यांचा ७ नोव्हेंबर हा स्मृतिदिन होता. त्यानिमित्ताने पुणे (भारत) रेडिओ केंद्राने (आकाशवाणीने) त्यांच्या “कॅलिडीयोस्कोप” या इंग्रजी माध्यमातील विशेष कार्यक्रमातून त्याला आदरांजली वाहिली. पुणे आकाशवाणी केंद्राचे कार्यक्रम अधिकारी श्री. गौरव शिंपी यांनी त्यासाठी वाईच्या (जि.-सातारा) किसन वीर महाविद्यालयातील निवृत्त इंग्रजी विभाग प्रमुख, उपप्राचार्य, आंतरराष्ट्रीय जर्नलचे संपादक, संगीत विवेचक, तंत्रज्ञान प्रेमी आणि वर्ल्डप्रेस वर veerites या ब्लॉगचे ऍक्टिव्ह असलेले ब्लॉगर डॉ. आर.वाय.शिंदे (सध्या पुणे येथे वास्तव्य) यांना निमंत्रित केले होते. शनिवार दि. ९ नोव्हेंबर रोजी सकाळी १० वाजून १० मिनिटांनी या कार्यक्रमाचे प्रसारण आकाशवाणी पुणे केंद्रावरून करण्यात आले.

ईश्वर आहे की नाही ?, कार्ल मार्क्स प्रणित क्रांती होईल की नाही ? यापेक्षाही दुःखातून मुक्ती मिळविण्यासाठी प्रत्येक माणसाने बंड पुकारले पाहिजे, आशावाद जपला पाहिजे हे सांगणाऱ्या फ्रेंच कादंबरीकार अल्बर्ट काम्युची बंडखोर भूमिका त्याकाळी समाजमनावर परिणाम करणारी ठरली होती. अस्तित्ववाद आणि निरईश्वरवादामध्ये माणसाला केंद्रस्थानी मानणारा काम्युचा वैचारिक लढा त्यामुळेच तत्कालीन समाजलढ्यात सर्वश्रेष्ठ वाटतो.
  • इंग्रजी विषयाचे गाढे अभ्यासक आणि लेखक असलेले डॉ. आर.वाय. शिंदे हे माझ्यापासून अवघ्या २४० किलोमीटर अंतरावर असलेल्या पुणे शहरात स्थायिक आहेत. पण त्यांचा आणि माझा मैत्रीचा धागा जुळायला मात्र वर्ल्डप्रेस हे ब्लॉग माध्यम कारणीभूत ठरले आहे. मी वर्ल्डप्रेसवर माझा ब्लॉग सुरू केल्यानंतर मला सुरुवातीला भाषेची अडचण येत होती. पण मग ट्रान्सलेटरच्या मदतीने इंग्रजी भाषांतरित पोस्ट प्रकाशित करायला सुरुवात केली. मला मराठी भाषिक फॉलोअर्स भेटले की आजही आपला निर्णय अचूक ठरल्याचा आनंद मिळतो. डॉ. आर.वाय.शिंदे हे मला ब्लॉगमुळेच मित्र म्हणून भेटले.
  • वर्ल्डप्रेस हे ब्लॉगरचे जागतिक व्यासपीठ आहे याचा रोज अनुभव येतो. वेगवेगळ्या देशातील ब्लॉगर मित्र झालेत. प्रत्येकाचे काही ना काही वेगळे वैशिष्ट्य आहे. आपण हे वेगळेपण लिहावे याच उद्देशाने डॉ. आर.वाय.शिंदे यांच्या पुणे रेडिओ केंद्रावरील व्याख्यानाचे निमित्त साधले. त्यातही महत्वाचे म्हणजे भारतातील मराठी प्रांतात कार्यरत असलेल्या पुणे रेडिओ स्टेशनने अल्बर्ट काम्युसारख्या फ्रेंच तत्ववेत्त्याचा स्मृतिदिन साजरा करावा हा दृष्टिकोन मला प्रांत आणि देशाच्या सीमेपलीकडे एकात्मता नेणारा वाटला. त्यामुळे पुणे रेडिओ स्टेशनचे देखील मला कौतुक वाटले. म्हणूनच मी माझ्या भावना ब्लॉगवर शब्दबद्ध केल्या आहेत.

    हृदयापासून नमस्कार! 🙏
    आयुष्य ज्याच्यासाठी वेचले ते घडीभर साथ देऊ शकलें नाहीत पण काही घडीच्या आपल्या वर्ड प्रेस ब्लॉग वरील साथीत तुम्ही इतकी सुंदर मैफल सजवली की हे सूर शेवटच्या श्वासापर्यंत कानात आळवत राहीन.
    नेहमीच्या सकाळच्या, चष्मा नसण्याच्या उन्हात लिहितोय. समजून घ्या. तुमचा ब्लॉग पुढे पाठवत असताना सोलापूर मधील आष्टीच्या लढाईत खांद्यावर गॅलिपर तोफ घेऊन लढलेल्या गोखले या अनाम वीराची तुम्ही सांगितलेली गोष्ट ग्रांची ला समोर ठेऊ न ऐकलेली आठवते आणि तुमची ही शब्दांची तोफ मागचे आणि पुढचें संकुचित मानवी द्वेषाचे अनेक तोफखाने बेचिराख करुन टाकल्याशिवाय राहणार नाही असा विश्वास वाटतो.
    शब्दांनी कृतज्ञता व्यक्त न करता तुमच्या अखंड ऋणात राहाणे योग आणि तुमच्या कार्यात एखादे वेलीचे नाही पण एखाद्या बावधन च्या जवळच्या एखाद्या झाडाचे एखादे पान घेऊन त्याचा शाब्दिक मुकूट तुम्हाला प्रत्यक्ष भेटून, वारंवार परिधान करायला देईन अशी दुर्मिळ खात्री देतो.

        My Heartfelt tribute to your passionate response to my tribute to Albert Camus, Nobel Laureate in Literature from small (erstwhile French Colony) country Algeria.
        Our Tagore of our great & ancient country India, won it in 1913, exactly, same year in which Camus was born.

        Those with whom I lived life, all this while, couldn’t respond much to my writings but you, whom I met on the beautiful site of WordPress blog just for a while, responded so beautifully!

        I’m writing under your blog, standing under a discarded upside down earth mover JCB body in heat declining to let winter come in this region.

        You told about how Maratha empire breathed its last, not in Ganesh Khind with Peshwa losing to the British but actually in his own willingly joining hands, along with Prataprao Bhonsale of Satara not helping Bapu Gokhale in the less known battle of Ashti in Solapur.

        They used Galilper cannons which one could carry by single bullock driven cart or even on shoulders. Your narration of that harrowing Maratha history, which, according to Granchi, the Italian post modern historian & historicism theorist, is the history of the common man, which is not brought to light in the society, largely driven by prevailing political powers.
        This uprise of Bastion of Ashti in which heroism of Bapu Gokhale was totally discarded and forgotten by all historians reminded me of Lord Byron’s Castle of Chion near Austria. You told me that the British destroyed the grave of Bapu & excavated a water reservoir there to force people to relegate his memory in those sinking waters of ingratitude.
        I use those Galiper cannons here to describe your heroic attempt to bring me to the light of recognition in this largely ungrateful world that surrounds me.
        Your Galiper cannon, I mean this blog will burn into ashes many a troves of jealousy & malice, in the depths of their minds, if they have any. I wish to remain in your debt rather than expressing my gratitude in words which are not perennial like the grief of Sisyphus but my gratitude is. I had edited the college magazine by making students as editors. Editor students were from surrounding villages like Bavdhan. There is another Bavdhan near Kothrud but that is not this one. I consider that experience & experiment so much precious that I look at each leaf of trees in that area like a laurel on my head.
        I wish to pluck any one leaf in my imagination & wear it on your head like a crown. I am not afraid to lose anything by inviting wrath of a few.
