While being an Indian, I genuinely admire Japanese daily life and culture. Naturally, it is their sincerity in nurturing patriotism and social awareness that attracts me the most. Since my son has been working in Japan for the past year, the Japan I see through his experiences appears not only beautiful to me but also safer and more promising for the future. While feeling this way, I have a modest expectation that my fellow countrymen in India, which is on the path of progress, should try to understand this comparative difference.
Japan is a living example of how a country can become progressive, cultured, and secure through discipline, mutual respect, proper use of technology, and patriotism. At present, this is exactly what India, which is on the path of progress, needs. Here, so-called political parties and organizations are increasing negativity by politicizing every issue and even undermining patriotism. That is why I feel Japan should be kept before us as an example to follow.
(1) Everyday Life in Japan :
Everyday life in Japan is extremely disciplined, courteous, and organized. Each individual maintains a high level of self-respect regarding their responsibilities in daily life.
- Discipline: Creating disorder in public places, breaking queues, or causing filth is considered completely unacceptable.
- Cleanliness: There is a culture of carrying one’s own trash. Despite having fewer public trash bins, the streets and public spaces remain immaculately clean.
- Work Culture: The Japanese place utmost importance on hard work, loyalty, and teamwork. Many workers put in long hours and maintain deep dedication to their jobs.
- Respect for the Elderly: Elderly individuals are treated with great respect. In public transportation and queues, priority is given to senior citizens.
(2) Civic Amenities :
Japan’s civic amenities are considered among the best in the world. These facilities remain consistently efficient due to the combined efforts of both the government and the citizens.
- Transportation System: Japan’s railway service, especially the Shinkansen (bullet trains), is world-renowned. Punctual schedules and clean coaches are its hallmarks. In urban areas, metro and bus services are highly convenient and punctual.
- Healthcare Services: A universal healthcare system operates effectively. All citizens have access to high-quality medical services at affordable rates.
- Disaster Management: Although Japan is prone to natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis, its disaster management system is extremely effective. Disaster preparedness training is imparted in all schools.
- Use of Technology: Robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation are seamlessly integrated into civic amenities. Technology is smoothly incorporated into everything from banking to household chores.
- Water and Electricity Systems: Tap water is safe for drinking. The electricity supply is continuous and highly reliable.
(3) Patriotism Among Citizens :
The patriotism of Japanese citizens is clearly reflected in their behavior, lifestyle, and preservation of culture.
- Cultural Preservation: The Japanese take great pride in their traditional arts, music, dance, literature, and customs, and they work diligently to pass them on to future generations.
- National Honor: Japanese people show immense respect for their national flag and anthem. Children are taught love for the nation from an early age in schools.
- Dedication to Duty: Citizens contribute sincerely and to the best of their abilities in their respective fields for the nation’s development.
- Unity: During any national disaster, the Japanese face crises collectively and with restraint. Social discipline and mutual cooperation are maintained under all circumstances.
- Self-reliance and Prestige: Every citizen works with utmost honesty to uphold the nation’s dignity on the global stage.
“जपानचे जनजीवन, नागरी सुविधा आणि देशभक्ती…!”
मी भारतीय असताना जपानी जनजीवन आणि लोकसंस्कृतीचं कौतुक करतोय. अर्थातच त्यांच्यामधील राष्ट्रभक्ती आणि समाजभान बाळगण्यामधील सच्चेपणा मला आकर्षित करतो म्हणूनच. माझा मुलगा जॉबसाठी एक वर्षांपासून जपानमध्येच असल्याने त्याच्या अनुभवातून दिसणारे जपान मला सुंदर तर वाटतेच पण ते अधिक सुरक्षित आणि भविष्य घडविणारे वाटते. हे वाटत असतानाच प्रगतीच्या वाटेवर असलेल्या भारतातील देशवासियांनी तुलनात्मक फरक समजून घ्यावा एव्हढीच माफक अपेक्षा आहे.
शिस्त, परस्पर आदर, तंत्रज्ञानाचा योग्य वापर आणि देशप्रेम यांच्या जोरावर एखादा देश प्रगत, सुसंस्कृत आणि सुरक्षित कसा होवू शकतो याचे जपान हे मूर्तिमंत उदाहरण आहे. प्रगतीच्या वाटेवर असलेल्या भारत देशाला सध्या याचीच गरज आहे. इथे प्रत्येक गोष्टीवर राजकारण करून नकारात्मकता वाढवताना राष्ट्रभक्तीला देखील सुरुंग लावण्याचे काम तथाकथित राजकीय पक्ष आणि संघटना करत आहेत. म्हणूनच जपान हे आपल्यासमोर आदर्शाचे एक उदाहरण म्हणून ठेवावेसे वाटते.
(१) जपानचे जनजीवन
जपानमधील जनजीवन अत्यंत शिस्तबद्ध, सभ्य आणि संघटित आहे. प्रत्येक व्यक्तीचा दैनंदिन जीवनात स्वतःच्या जबाबदाऱ्यांबाबत उच्च दर्जाचा आत्मसन्मान आहे.
- शिस्त: सार्वजनिक ठिकाणी गोंधळ घालणे, रांग तोडणे, किंवा गलिच्छपणा करणे अगदी अस्वीकार्य समजले जाते.
- स्वच्छता: स्वतःचा कचरा स्वतः सोबत ठेवण्याची संस्कृती आहे. सार्वजनिक कचरापेट्या कमी आहेत, तरीही रस्ते आणि सार्वजनिक ठिकाणे लख्ख स्वच्छ असतात.
- काम संस्कृती: जपानी लोक मेहनत, निष्ठा आणि टीमवर्क यांना सर्वाधिक महत्त्व देतात. अनेक जपानी कामगार दीर्घ तास काम करतात आणि कामावर अपार निष्ठा बाळगतात.
- वृद्धांचा सन्मान: वयोवृद्ध व्यक्तींचा विशेष आदर केला जातो. सार्वजनिक वाहतूक आणि रांगेत वृद्धांना अग्रक्रम दिला जातो.
(२) नागरी सुविधा
जपानमध्ये नागरी सुविधा जगातील सर्वोत्तम मानल्या जातात. सरकार आणि नागरिक या दोघांची संयुक्त प्रयत्नांची परिणती म्हणून या सुविधा सतत कार्यक्षम असतात.
- वाहतूक व्यवस्था: जपानची रेल्वे सेवा (विशेषतः शिंकानसेन म्हणजे बुलेट ट्रेन) जगप्रसिद्ध आहे. शिस्तबद्ध वेळापत्रक आणि स्वच्छ डबे हे वैशिष्ट्य. शहरी भागात मेट्रो, बससेवा अतिशय सोयीची आणि वेळेवर असते.
- आरोग्य सेवा: सार्वत्रिक आरोग्य सेवा प्रणाली कार्यरत आहे. सर्व नागरिकांना परवडणाऱ्या दरात उच्च दर्जाच्या वैद्यकीय सुविधा मिळतात.
- आपत्ती व्यवस्थापन: जपान भूकंप, सुनामीसारख्या आपत्तीग्रस्त देश असूनही, येथील आपत्ती निवारण प्रणाली अत्यंत प्रभावी आहे. सर्व शाळांमध्ये आपत्ती काळात वागायचे प्रशिक्षण दिले जाते.
- तंत्रज्ञानाचा वापर: नागरी सुविधांमध्ये रोबोटिक्स, आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजन्स आणि ऑटोमेशनचा प्रभावी वापर केला जातो. बँकिंगपासून ते घरगुती कामांपर्यंत तंत्रज्ञान सहजतेने एकत्रित झाले आहे.
- पाणी व वीज व्यवस्था: पिण्याचे पाणी थेट नळातून प्यायला योग्य असते. वीज पुरवठा सतत आणि अत्यंत विश्वासार्ह असतो.
(३) नागरिकांची देशभक्ती
जपानी नागरिकांची देशभक्ती ही त्यांच्या वर्तनातून, जीवनशैलीतून आणि संस्कृतीच्या जतनातून प्रकर्षाने दिसते.
- संस्कृतीची जोपासना: जपानी लोक आपल्या पारंपरिक कला, संगीत, नृत्य, साहित्य आणि चालीरीती यांचा अत्यंत अभिमानाने आदर करतात आणि पुढच्या पिढीपर्यंत पोहोचवतात.
- राष्ट्रीय सन्मान: राष्ट्रध्वज आणि राष्ट्रगीताबद्दल जपानी लोकांमध्ये प्रचंड आदर आहे. शाळांमध्ये मुलांना लहानपणापासूनच देशप्रेमाचे बाळकडू दिले जाते.
- कर्तव्यनिष्ठा: जपानी लोक देशाच्या विकासासाठी आपापल्या क्षेत्रात प्रामाणिकपणे आणि पूर्ण क्षमतेने योगदान देतात.
- एकात्मता: कोणतीही राष्ट्रीय आपत्ती आली तरी जपानी लोक एकत्रितपणे, संयम राखत संकटांचा सामना करतात. कोणत्याही परिस्थितीत सामाजिक शिस्त आणि परस्पर सहकार्य टिकून राहते.
- स्वावलंबन व प्रतिष्ठा: देशाचा दर्जा जागतिक पातळीवर टिकवण्यासाठी प्रत्येक नागरिक आपली कामगिरी अतिशय प्रामाणिकपणे करतो.
