What is your career plan?
Many times in life, we reach a certain point where we feel – it’s time to take a break. It’s time to live life on our own terms, in a way that truly brings us satisfaction. I too had made such a decision. After working continuously in journalism for 32 years, on April 20, 2025, I firmly resolved to retire. I had clearly planned to bid farewell to the daily rush and lead a peaceful life by focusing solely on blogging and writing based on my personal experiences.
Sometimes, retirement is not an end, but a preparation for a new beginning. Through ‘Amrutvel’, I hope my writing and thoughts will find a fresh direction. I am accepting this opportunity not merely as a job, but as a socially conscious writer. This opportunity, received in the later stage of life, has brought with it a new dawn for me.
🔴Preparing for a New Writing Journey on the Threshold of Retirement
My writing journey has always been closely connected to my personal life. Through newspapers, magazines, and later blogging, I have explored various social, historical, spiritual, and human themes. After retirement, I had decided to write more deeply, sincerely, and freely—without any pressure. However, life often unfolds in unexpected ways, presenting opportunities beyond our planned boundaries.
🔴Editorial Opportunity from Amrutvel Group
On April 20, I received an offer for an important position from the media group ‘Amrutvel’—the role of editor for their newly launched corporate magazine. Their Managing Editor, Dharmendra Pawar, personally met me and earnestly requested that I take up this responsibility. Given the trust, warmth, and vision behind his proposal, I couldn’t turn it down. This was not just a new job opportunity—it was a platform for my experience to find new expression and a chance to guide the next generation.
🔴A Second Breath in Professional Life
This happened just a few days after I turned 58, on April 11. At this stage of life, most people look toward retirement, but I found a new door opening at its very threshold. This opportunity felt like a second breath in my professional journey. It brought with it a fresh chance to apply my matured writing, editorial experience, and value-based perspective.
🔴Time to Redesign My Career Plan
To take on this new responsibility, I will now have to prepare myself afresh. I must work not just as a writer, but also as a mentor and visionary editor. With new people, new ideas, and a new tone in corporate journalism, I now need to redesign my career plan. It’s a big challenge—but within it lies the seed of new energy and purpose.
“करिअरचं वळण : निवृत्तीनंतर उगवलेली नवी सकाळ…!”
अनेक वेळा आपण आयुष्यात एखाद्या ठराविक टप्प्यावर पोहोचतो आणि वाटतं – आता विश्रांती घ्यावी. आता मनासारखं आयुष्य जगावं, जे आपल्याला खऱ्या अर्थाने समाधान देईल. मीदेखील असाच एक निर्णय घेतला होता. पत्रकारितेत सलग ३२ वर्षे काम केल्यानंतर, २० एप्रिल २०२५ रोजी मी निवृत्तीचा विचार ठामपणे मनाशी बांधला. रोजच्या धावपळीला निरोप देऊन, केवळ ब्लॉग लेखन आणि वैयक्तिक अनुभवांवर आधारित लेखन करत निवांत आयुष्य जगायचं – ही माझी स्पष्ट योजना होती.
कधीकधी निवृत्ती म्हणजे शेवट नसून, ती एका नव्या सुरुवातीची पूर्वतयारी असते. ‘अमृतवेल’च्या माध्यमातून माझ्या लेखनाला आणि विचारांना नवं वळण मिळेल, ही आशा आहे. मी ही संधी केवळ नोकरी म्हणून नव्हे, तर सामाजिक भान असलेला लेखक म्हणून स्वीकारत आहे. आयुष्याच्या उत्तरार्धात लाभलेली ही संधी माझ्यासाठी एक नवी सकाळ घेऊन आली आहे.
🔴निवृत्तीच्या उंबरठ्यावर नव्या लेखनप्रवासाची तयारी
माझ्या लेखनाची सुरूवात पूर्वीपासूनच माझ्या वैयक्तिक आयुष्याशी जोडलेली आहे. वर्तमानपत्र, मासिके आणि नंतर ब्लॉग या माध्यमांतून मी अनेक सामाजिक, ऐतिहासिक, अध्यात्मिक आणि मानवी विषय हाताळले. निवृत्तीनंतर याचं अधिक सखोलपणे, मनापासून आणि दबावमुक्त स्वरूपात लेखन करायचं हे मी ठरवलेलं होतं. मात्र, आयुष्याच्या रचनेत काही घटना अशा घडतात ज्या नियोजनाच्या चौकटीबाहेर असतात आणि त्या संधीचं रूप घेऊन समोर येतात.
🔴अमृतवेल समूहाकडून संपादक पदाची संधी
२० एप्रिल रोजी ‘अमृतवेल’ या माध्यम समूहाकडून मला एका महत्त्वाच्या पदाची ऑफर मिळाली – त्यांच्या नव्याने सुरू होणाऱ्या कॉर्पोरेट मॅगझीनसाठी संपादकपदाची. त्यांच्या व्यवस्थापकीय संपादक धर्मेंद्र पवार यांनी मला खास भेटून ही भूमिका स्वीकारण्याचा आग्रह केला. त्यांच्या प्रस्तावामागे असलेला विश्वास, आत्मीयता आणि दूरदृष्टी पाहता, मी निर्णय नाकारू शकलो नाही. ही संधी म्हणजे केवळ एक नवीन नोकरी नव्हती, तर माझ्या अनुभवांना नवे व्यासपीठ मिळण्याची आणि नव्या पिढीला दिशा देण्याची संधी होती.
🔴व्यावसायिक जीवनातील दुसरा श्वास
हे घडलं त्या अगदी काही दिवसांपूर्वी, म्हणजेच ११ एप्रिल रोजी मी ५८ व्या वर्षात प्रवेश केला होता. वयाच्या या टप्प्यावर बहुतांश लोक निवृत्तीकडे पाहतात, पण मला मात्र निवृत्तीच्या उंबरठ्यावर एक नवा दरवाजा उघडलेला दिसला. ही संधी म्हणजे माझ्या व्यावसायिक जीवनात आलेला दुसरा श्वास होता. माझ्या अनुभवानं परिपक्व झालेलं लेखन, संपादन आणि मूल्याधारित दृष्टिकोन या सगळ्याचा उपयोग करून घेण्याची वेळ पुन्हा एकदा समोर उभी राहिली.
🔴नव्याने करिअरचा प्लॅन आखायचा आहे
आता या नव्या जबाबदारीसाठी मला पुन्हा नव्याने स्वतःला सुसज्ज करावं लागणार आहे. केवळ लेखक म्हणून नव्हे, तर एक मार्गदर्शक आणि दृष्टी देणारा संपादक म्हणून काम करावं लागेल. नवीन माणसं, नवीन संकल्पना, आणि एका नव्या टोनमध्ये सादर होणारी कॉर्पोरेट पत्रकारिता – या सगळ्याची जोड देत मला नव्यानं करिअर प्लॅन आखावा लागणार आहे. हे आव्हान मोठं आहे, पण त्यातच नवचैतन्याचं बीजही आहे.
