My long journey in the field of journalism has not merely been a professional progression, but an inspiring voyage of thoughts, emotions, and the pursuit of truth.i Starting out as a humble reporter and moving through various stages, I have now been appointed as the editor of the prestigious Marathi magazine Amrutvel. This journey has not been easy, but every obstacle and experience has shaped me. This year, I celebrated my birthday with the added joy of taking on a new responsibility — making this milestone even more meaningful.
Today, as I carry out my responsibilities as an editor, it is important that every decision I make considers the interests of readers, writers, and society as a whole. My hope is that my writing and perspective contribute to creating a more aware and sensitive society. My goals are to elevate the intellectual standard of Amrutvel, provide opportunities to emerging writers, and explore new directions.
✅Humble Beginnings as a Reporter
My journey in journalism began as a humble reporter. Back then, the core tasks involved gathering information, verifying it, and presenting it in appropriate words. With no expectations in mind, I simply focused on my work. Traveling from village to village, listening to people’s problems and stories, and giving them a voice through media — that was my goal. Gradually, my writing style evolved, and I found my footing.
✅Struggles and Lessons
I never imagined that success would come quickly in this field. I had to endure failures, disappointments, criticism, and at times even neglect. But every challenge turned out to be a new classroom. Readers’ feedback, editors’ suggestions, and colleagues’ experiences all became sources of learning. That learning is now reflected in my writing and editorial decisions.
✅Experience Across Media Platforms
Throughout my career, I’ve served in various roles across newspapers, weeklies, and magazines. At times as a sub-editor, sometimes as a feature writer, and also as an independent columnist. Each medium has its own writing style, audience, and responsibilities. These diverse experiences have given me a well-rounded perspective, shaping me into a mature journalist.
✅Bond with Amrutvel
My association with Amrutvel magazine is not new. I have previously contributed as a writer for the magazine. But taking on the role of editor is a completely different responsibility. Amrutvel has carved a distinct place among its readers, and maintaining that reputation is not only an honor but also a challenge for me.
✅Appointment as Editor: A Special Day
I stepped into my 58th year on April 11. Just a few days later, on May 1, I officially assumed the role of editor of Amrutvel. This opportunity, arriving so soon after my birthday, brought double the joy. It felt like the beginning of a new chapter. This responsibility is not just an honor — it is a reflection of the trust placed in my 32 years of experience.
“प्रत्येक अडथळा आणि अनुभवाने मला घडवलं…!”
पत्रकारितेच्या क्षेत्रात दीर्घकाळ कार्यरत असलेला हा माझा प्रवास, केवळ व्यवसायिक वाटचाल नव्हे तर स्वतःच्या विचारांची, संवेदनांची आणि सत्याच्या शोधाची एक प्रेरणादायी यात्रा ठरली आहे. साध्या बातमीदारापासून सुरुवात करून अनेक टप्प्यांतून प्रवास करत अखेर मी ‘अमृतवेल’ या प्रतिष्ठित मराठी मासिकाचा संपादक म्हणून नियुक्त झालो आहे. हा प्रवास सोपा नव्हता. पण प्रत्येक अडथळा, प्रत्येक अनुभवाने मला घडवलं. यावर्षी माझा वाढदिवस एका नव्या जबाबदारीसह साजरा झाला. आणि त्यामुळेच या टप्प्याचं महत्त्व अधिक गडद झालं आहे.
आज संपादक म्हणून जबाबदारी पार पाडताना माझ्या प्रत्येक निर्णयामध्ये वाचक, लेखक आणि समाज यांचं हित लक्षात घेणं महत्त्वाचं आहे. माझं लेखन आणि दृष्टिकोन समाजाला सजग आणि संवेदनशील करण्यासाठी उपयोगी पडावा, हीच अपेक्षा. ‘अमृतवेल’ चं वैचारिक दर्जा अधिक उंचावणं, नवोदित लेखकांना संधी देणं, आणि नव्या वाटा धुंडाळणं, हे माझं उद्दिष्ट आहे.
✅सुरुवात साध्या बातमीदारापासून
माझ्या पत्रकारितेच्या प्रवासाची सुरुवात एक साधा बातमीदार म्हणून झाली. त्या काळात माहिती मिळवणे, ती पडताळून पाहणे आणि योग्य शब्दात सादर करणे हेच मुख्य काम होतं. कुठल्याही अपेक्षा न ठेवता फक्त कामावर लक्ष केंद्रीत करत गेलो. गावोगाव जाऊन लोकांच्या समस्या, त्यांच्या कथा ऐकणं आणि त्यांना प्रसिद्धी मिळवून देणं, हेच माझं ध्येय होतं. हळूहळू लेखनशैली सुधारत गेली, आणि मी स्थिरावलो.
✅संघर्ष आणि शिकवण
या क्षेत्रात येऊन लगेचच यश मिळेल अशी कल्पना नव्हतीच. अपयश, निराशा, टीका आणि प्रसंगी दुर्लक्षही झेलावं लागलं. पण प्रत्येक अडथळा हे एक नवं शाळा होतं. वाचकांच्या प्रतिक्रिया, संपादकांच्या सूचना, आणि सहकाऱ्यांचे अनुभव – या साऱ्यांतून मी शिकत गेलो. हेच शिकणं आज माझ्या लेखनात आणि संपादकीय निर्णयांत प्रतिबिंबित होतं.
✅विविध माध्यमांतून अनुभव
संपूर्ण कारकिर्दीत मी वृत्तपत्रे, साप्ताहिके आणि मासिकांमध्ये वेगवेगळ्या भूमिका पार पाडल्या. कधी उपसंपादक, कधी फीचर लेखक, कधी स्वतंत्र स्तंभलेखक म्हणूनही काम केलं. प्रत्येक माध्यमाचं लेखनशैली, वाचकवर्ग आणि जबाबदारी वेगळी असते. या सगळ्यांनी मला एक सर्वांगसुंदर दृष्टिकोन दिला, ज्यातून मी एका परिपक्व पत्रकार म्हणून घडलो.
✅‘अमृतवेल’शी नातं
‘अमृतवेल’ मासिकाशी माझं नातं काही नवीन नाही. मध्यंतरी काही काळ या मासिकासाठी लेखन करत होतो. पण या मासिकाचा संपादक म्हणून काम करणं ही एक वेगळीच जबाबदारी आहे. या मासिकाने वाचकांमध्ये विशिष्ट स्थान निर्माण केलं आहे, आणि ते स्थान टिकवणं हे माझ्यासाठी सन्मानासोबतच एक आव्हानही आहे.
✅संपादक म्हणून नियुक्ती : एक खास दिवस
मी ११ एप्रिल रोजी ५८ व्या वर्षात प्रवेश केला. आणि त्यानंतर केवळ काही दिवसांनी, म्हणजेच १ मे रोजी, ‘अमृतवेल’ मासिकाचा संपादक म्हणून अधिकृतपणे जबाबदारी स्वीकारली. वाढदिवसानंतर मिळालेली ही संधी माझ्यासाठी दुहेरी आनंद घेऊन आली. एक नवीन पर्व सुरू झाल्याची जाणीव झाली. ही जबाबदारी म्हणजे केवळ सन्मान नाही, तर माझ्या ३२ वर्षांच्या अनुभवावर ठेवलेला विश्वास आहे.
